New York Operations
Land Stewardship
Audubon International owns, manages, or holds conservation easements over properties
within New York State—in locations such as the Hudson Valley and in the High
Peaks of the Adirondack Mountains. We manage these lands using environmentally
sound practices aimed at protecting water quality, providing habitat for
wildlife, and managing our natural resources more sustainably.
Our showcase property is Hollyhock Hollow Sanctuary, the headquarters of
Audubon International.
Hollyhock Hollow Sanctuary is a unique 138-acre property that features
fascinating history, unique geological features, the Onesquethaw Creek, a
beautiful pond, gardens for wildlife, hiking trails, and excellent birding
opportunities. Whether you prefer to snowshoe in the winter or search for
wildflowers in the spring, Hollyhock Hollow Sanctuary is a valuable destination
in every season. We welcome visitors every day from dawn until dusk. Hollyhock
Hollow Sanctuary is proud to be a New York State Watchable Wildlife Site.

Audubon International's land stewardship strategy focuses
on: (1) managing our properties using best management practices so
they serve as models for good environmental stewardship, and (2) providing
information, advice and incentives for land owners and managers throughout
New York State to
practice good environmental stewardship where they live—through our
various education and certification programs.
